
Dan Connolly – Instructor Bio
Born: 20th July 1963, Edenfield, Lancashire, England
Hometown: Drogheda, Ireland
Dan Connolly began training in Karate in 1973, studying under Sensei John O’Connor. He quickly gained a reputation for his dedication, toughness, and disciplined fighting style, influenced by both traditional Karate and full-contact competition.
A seasoned martial artist, Dan competed in Muay Thai and earned several knockdown Karate victories throughout the late 1970s and early 1980s. His approach blends practical combat effectiveness with traditional martial principles.
In 1983, Dan co-founded a martial arts club in Dundalk, Ireland, with Seamus McDonnell. The following year, he opened a second dojo in Drogheda with his partner and club secretary, Aisling Healy.
Now firmly based in Drogheda, Dan continues to teach and inspire students across Ireland, sharing the insights of a lifetime dedicated to martial arts.
